GEORGIA COUNCIL FOR RECOVERY

The opposite of addiction is connection. Georgia Council for Recovery has risen to the challenge of COVID-19 leading for the Georgia Recovery Community with a series of new virtual programs allowing peers in recovery to stay connected during the pandemic. The success of these new platforms builds recovery supported and expanded from the established life saving GC4R CARES Warm Line program. During COVID-19 the GC4R CARES Warm Line has seen a consistent rise in both the volume of calls and the intensity of the calls.

The GC4R Virtual All Recovery Meetings have grown from an idea and experiment to a holistic program operating multiple times a day, seven days a week in multiple languages and serving as a model for diversity and inclusion.

The GC4R Recovery Town Hall Meetings have united the Georgia Recovery Community with elected officials, health care, education, and business leaders and serves as a platform to build bridges and break stigma.

Please check out the reports for information on how these important virtual efforts are connecting peers across Georgia together during COVID-19 and saving lives.

The numbers in these reports represent individuals. Each person represented has a story to tell, is a person worthy of love and to be loved. These are real stories of courage and willingness to connect with others who are seeking to get and stay well because: Georgia Recovers Together.
