Join together with the Mary Hall Freedom House and other families who will be walking to support the many needed steps to recovery! Vendors will be on site to provide resources and information to all participants and those in the community. Education of prevention and intervention methods are key to successful recovery. Families provide a great support system for those recovering from substance abuse. Participants can share their personal stories or friends and family recovery stories. Those in recovery will be celebrated through the countdown to recovery, to include a balloon release and ringing of the recovery bells, which will both be provided to all participants.

This rally is hosted on campus at the auditorium and has “Ted Like” talks from individuals with a lived experience. An all-day event to come and fit a motivational talk into the daily schedule. Speakers both from the Cares program and Respect Institute will be the speakers. During intermissions, motivational slides are played with motivational inspired music. Resource tables of local services will be set up as well as counselor from EGSC and local providers. They want a positive image with the students so they will seek help on campus. Community programs, surrounding communities are invited to this event as well.

Hope House will be hosting a public event for their community and surrounding communities to promote and encourage recovery. The event will be hosted by a local church who believes our mission is valuable. We will have several speakers who have been impacted by recovery to share their stories with us. There will be a talent show with local and state talent entries. The goal is to provide hope and education on substance use disorder to all attending and provide a safe and sober environment for fun.

This event is open to the community! Organizations from around Middle GA are coming together to celebrate National Recovery Month in Dublin, GA. This Family Fun Day is Free to the community and will include bounce houses for kids, art, music, dance, free food and more! In addition, the annual chili cook-off and corn hole tournament will take place.

Dekalb CSB: “Our Stories, Our Families, Our Recovery” 2nd Annual Cookout in the Park @ Exchange PArk Pavillion

The main event “Cookout in the Park” will take place on Friday, September 22, 2017, 10:00 am – 2:00 PM at Exchange Park located in Decatur, GA. The event will be hosted by the DeKalb CSB Residential Peer Advisory Committee and residential staff.  The events are designed to be a program of peers to service the peers and a form of outreach for those clients who would like to give back to their community. The cookout will include a gourmet hotdog stand, music, lawn games, recovery resources, health education, and presentations from current and former participants from our program currently in recovery.  In addition, the event will provide on-site homeless housing assessment, URICA, HIV testing, and health and wellness checks.

A collaborative project with R2ISE INC. and iHOPE INC. To celebrate, educate, raise awareness and advocate for recovery in middle Georgia. Art exhibit and vendor exhibit that will include NA, health care providers and Celebrate recovery. It will include One Small Change Inc, Both And Partners, NA, Teen challenge, health care partner, Celebrate Recovery, Love and Kindness Ministry, Mikell Morton (interpretive sign language), and Potter’s House for Women dance ministry.

Highland Rivers CSB: Strengthen Families and Communities @ Heritage Park

On September 23, 2017, from 10am- 2pm, there will be a walk & rally at Heritage Park in Rome called Join the Voices of Recovery: Strengthen Families and Communities. There will be food trucks; a bouncy house for the children; DJ for music; face painting; and booths for information on recovery and prevention. This event will be all about celebrating recovery and the many lives in the community that have been restored including individuals and their families. CARES, CPSs and their families will be speaking to give a face to recovery and celebrate their sobriety and how lives have been changed. There will be a marketing campaign using local radio with on-air advertising using PSA’s and interviews. Posters throughout the community. Announcements of the walk & rally at local recovery meeting places. Included but limited to local churches, 12 step meeting places, and Living Proof. We will provide printed bags, wristbands, and giveaways with the slogan Voices of Recovery: Strengthen Families and Communities.

Pineland DBHDD : Recovery in the Park @ Mill Creek Regional Park
