The time has come to face addiction and stand up for recovery. On October 4, 2015 a transformative event will take place in Washington, D.C. that will ignite and build a movement to address the most pressing health issue of our time.
I’m very excited to let you know about UNITE to Face Addiction, a grassroots advocacy effort organizing people, communities, and organizations to face addiction and stand up for recovery.
The Georgia Council on Substance Abuse is proud to be a partner in what will be an historic event on the National Mall in Washington, DC on Sunday, October 4, 2015. We’re joining with hundreds of other organizations to adopt the following statement of purpose about why we’re part of the rally that will ignite our movement:
“We have come together to let our nation know that addiction is preventable and treatable, that far too many of those affected have been incarcerated, and that people can and do get well.”
I ask you to join me in this important effort as part of the Georgia Council on Substance Abuse network. You can sign up on our partner web page here and receive regular updates about the campaign’s progress, and tools and resources to encourage others to join you in Washington, DC on October 4th.
